At a glance: - The Tax Office has released a summary of all the changes to taxation law which will affect taxpayers as they prepare their 2010 income tax returns.

1. There have been a number of changes to tax law which will affect a range of taxpayers.
 
2. The first change is the removal of the baby bonus which will no longer be available for the 2009-10 and future years. Taxpayers who have yet to make a claim relating to an earlier period will be able to do so up until June 30, 2014.
 
3. There have been a range of reforms to income tests used to calculate a range of tax concessions and Government benefits. [click here for more information]
 
4. Same sex couples will now be able to get access to the same tax concessions available to heterosexual couples in a de facto relationship.
 
5. Income earned from overseas employment will no longer be exempt unless they meet very strict guidelines outlined in the 2009 federal budget. [click here for more information]
 
6. More information will be collected to determine whether taxpayers are entitled to superannuation co-contributions.
 
7. A new income test has been introduced to determine whether a taxpayer is entitled to claim the Entrepreneurs Tax Offset. [click here for more information]
 
8. Changes to the way employee share schemes are to be treated have also come into effect. [click here for more information]
