According to the Treasurer, Australia has come through the Global economic crisis in a better position than many other developed nations.
|

The Treasurer believes that there are still many challenges ahead such as an ageing population and improvements to the health system.
|
| 3. |
He is encouraging all taxpayers to make a submission as to how they wish to have these issues resolved.
|
| 4. |
Submissions should be mindful of the impact of the global recession on government revenues, as well as the Federal Government goal of fiscal discipline.
|
| 5. |
In order to allow ideas to feed into the budget process, taxpayers who wish to make a submission should lodge their ideas before January 29, 2010.
