1. A new guide has been released by the Tax Office which seeks to provide assistance to small business owners in managing their tax affairs.
 
2. The issues highlighted in the guide include:

- Things to consider when starting a small business;
- Invoicing and record keeping requirements;
- Complying with tax obligations;
- Tax obligations in relation to engaging workers, including superannuation guarantee and PAYG Withholding requirements;
- Reporting and paying tax liabilities;
- Claiming entitlements;
- Winding up business operations; and
- How to seek help from the Tax Office.
 
3. The guide also lists a number of Government agencies which offer support and assistance to small business.
