In advance of the EURAFNE conference in Edinburgh, Sue Almond chaired an audit meeting to plan the next stage of development of the global audit practice. The 13 attendees were drawn from individuals who have previously been involved with the Kreston Global Audit Group, which was active in setting the roadmap to progress to a network in 2008.
With Sue’s full-time appointment, much progress has been made recently on some of the regulatory challenges we face, and we now have far more information about the member firms and their environments that we can use to plan where best to focus resource and support.
The agenda (see attached) was wide-ranging, and in fact continued through dinner with a discussion on audit fees on international assignments.
Rich Howard from US member firm CBIZ MHM presented a summary of the meeting and the key ongoing priority areas to the EURAFNE conference.
Rich said ‘Our key priorities remain the areas of:
- Marketing – in particular making it easier for members to collate information for quality global audit tenders
- Quality monitoring, and
- Promoting consistency in practice, where we have identified some key areas, such as group audits, where we believe we can develop tools that will help all member firms’.
