The Tax Office has now released a GST food classification tool which is designed to make it easier to determine the GST status of food and beverages.

The new online tool was developed using feedback from the food industry and works by asking a series of questions to assess the GST status of the food and beverage products.

The Tax Office has stated that the easy to use tool takes around five minutes to complete and gives the user results that can be relied on.
