2010 Tax Pack on its way!

1.	With tax time almost here, the Tax Office is encouraging taxpayers to be aware of the resources it provides to assist taxpayers with their tax obligations.
2.	The Tax Pack is a valuable tool designed to assist taxpayers in the preparation of their income tax returns. It includes instructions including: - Occupation codes in relation to salary and wage income; - The correct labels at which to disclose various sources of income, including investment income such as interest and dividends, capital gains, foreign income etc; - The correct labels at which to disclose various allowable deductions, including work related expenses, interest and dividend deductions, donations etc;
3.	In addition, the Tax Pack has a range of explanations and examples to help you complete your income tax return correctly, or to assist you in providing all relevant information to your tax agent.
4.	Taxpayers are reminded to keep all appropriate documentation to substantiate their claims.
5.	The Tax Pack will be available from Newsagents from July 1, 2010.
